6 of 365 days

I don't know if there is really 365 ways to photograph one dog......i was going for the eyes today but most of the pictures were fuzzy mostly because i had treats in a pouch around my neck and everyone had to get closer just in case they were getting a treat.......i think collies have beautiful eyes.  someone who thinks he knows it all said ozzy's eyes were too big.  well i wouldn't want him to have pig eyes, but to each his own.  i think ozzy has pretty eyes.  maybe my attraction to collies is because i'm half japanese and the almond eye thing is similar.....

Day Five of Three Hundred Sixty-Five

Well....TGIF.  Sure has been a long week.  Today when we delivered dictation, we took a ride by Idlewild Park to see the ducks and geese. Actually Ozzy wasn't too interested in them, but was happy to be out.  I was trying to capture him doing anything interesting when we happened upon this little girl and her grandmother feeding the the ducks.  So "interesting" became a quest for his fair share of the bread crumbs.

Soon we will be getting into the "dog days" of summer.... so might as well be prepared by catching a few extra winks on these hot days.  The cat in the photo is Truck, my maine coon who has the lion cut.  Truck spends most of his time in here with the dogs.....and every time the dogs are outside and come in, they chase him out of here.  I like to think they are trying to herd him.  He always comes back. While messing around in Picnik and Picasa....i settled on the B&W effect this time.

Day 3 of Three Hundred Sixty Five

Today's picture turned into a story, only because of Buddy.  So.....the first picture is The Official Day #3 Photo for the 365 Project......and then it continues on.....

Pistol:  Jeez, Buddy, get that tongue back in your mouth.  You'll be teaching my boy bad habits.

 Buddy:  Oh for crying out loud, he's not even paying attention

Pistol:  Well you don't have to act like you never saw a dog biscuit before.  Oh wait....did she drop it?

Buddy:  No she didn't -- she's waiting to take the picture.  C'mon guys -- LOOK AT THE CAMERA.  Well....DID she drop it?

Buddy:  I told you she didn't drop it -- now look what you did. Got Ozzy all excited and he left.

Pistol:  The rules are that he has to be in the picture.

Pistol:  OMG  i don't think the ear counts
Buddy:  I'm going to keep looking at the camera. I know she has biscuits.

You can lead a collie to something but you can't make him appreciate it.  I got a pedicure this AM -- same wonderful little gal that did it back in July before Sallye and I went to San Francisco (see old post).....so I took Ozzy and the camera outside to share my pretty red toes with him.  You can see his excitement. 

365 Project

Today is the first day of a new "project."  My FB friend Lauren who also happens to live in the Reno-Sparks area posted about doing this -- its supposed to be self-portraits every day for 365 days.  Well, if you know me, you know I am not taking my picture!!  So in an effort to heal my broken heart....I am going to get reacquainted with my dogs and take a new picture of Ozzy every day for 365 days.  

Today is a LANDMARK day in our lives around here.  August 23. Waverly's first day of classes at the University of Nevada-Reno.  I am very proud of her. She graduated in June with an honors diploma and managed on her own to get the money together to pay for her tuition, her books, a new iPhone, all of her supplies and still have money left to go towards NEXT semester!!!! Woo hoo!!  I tried to get her to let me take her picture like we did when she started kindergarten....but she wasn't having any of that.  

So to start off Ozzy's 365 project....this is Ozzy in the car waiting for Waverly to go school.

It's been hard for me to get into taking pictures of my dogs these past couple of weeks.  the herd is incomplete......but hopefully as time passes i will feel differently and it won't hurt as much.  The dogs were groomed this past week so we did a photo shoot in the back yard.  it wasn't easy, let me tell you :)
