more catch-up

Here's a few more pics from Saturday....pet sitting kitties are Zoi and Li'l Ruby, the most amazing St. Bernard named Drools....and Street Vibrations has been here since Wednesday.  i think its over today but i had to wander over to the Grand Sierra to take a few pics of the bikes.  they were everywhere......if you couldn't see them you could sure hear them!!

catch-up Sunday

Somehow i just didn't get back here yesterday to post pictures from our hike and other things.... i think the dogs had a blast and really enjoyed meeting Inyo and Felix.  They saw a rabbit run across the trail and ozzy must have seen a lizard run under a rock because he was not leavin' that rock for the longest time. then, mom was bad on the way home and bought us all chicken mcnuggets.  here's a few pics from our walk:

Be the Change Challenge!!!

New Be the Change Challenge!

We're excited to announce our latest Be the Chance for Pets challenge -- Adopt a Less-Adoptable Pet Week Challenge.
Senior pets, pets with medical problems, victims of breed prejudice, shy pets, special needs pets... they all deserve forever homes, too. These pets that deserve a second glance, a second chance.
During the week of Sept. 19-25, we're challenging pet bloggers to join forces for Adopt a Less-Adoptable Pet Week and highlight those pets who are usually overlooked in shelters and rescues.
Look for more details in the next week! In the meantime, check out our Be the Change for Pets Facebook page for more information. (The "Challenge!" tab has everything you need to know!)

Write a Post, Help a Dog

Time flies, and this kicks off tomorrow. Remember to come here Thursday and leave a link to your post so Pedigree can find and count it!

How often have you had a chance to have a 20 pound bag of dog food donated to a shelter simply for writing a blog post? It’s really that easy. Pedigree has upped the ante big time. And please spread this message: The food drive is not limited to pet blogs. Imagine if we could spread this message beyond our circles and see how far it goes? The numbers could be substantial. Here is the full scoop:
  • Each year, more than 4 million dogs end up in shelters and breed rescue organizations. Pedigree created The PEDIGREE Adoption Drive to help shine a spotlight on the plight of these homeless dogs.
  • This year the PEDIGREE Adoption Drive is raising awareness for homeless dogs by donating a bowl of food to shelter dogs for everyone who becomes a “Fan” or “Likes” The PEDIGREE Adoption Drive on Facebook. So far more than 1  million bowls have been donated.
  • Special for BlogPaws West: For each blog that posts about the PEDIGREE® Adoption Drive through September 19th, PEDIGREE® will donate a bag of their new Healthy Longevity Food for Dogs to shelters nationwide. It’s simple: Write a post, help a dog.
  • Thursday, September 16 through Sunday, September 19,  the Pedigree BlogPaws bloggers will host a Blog Hop, to help raise awareness for the “Write a post, help a dog” effort.
It is so easy to make a big difference. Please set aside a few moments to write a post. Include the bullet points above.  Copy the pics if you’d like. Add whatever you’d like in addition to help get the message out. Because this is not limited to pet bloggers, there is tremendous potential. Know bloggers in other categories that might be interested? Please share this post with them, write one of your own, and be here Thursday to leave a link to your post. Let’s make this huge. It would just feel great.

Lucy & Pebs

My little friends down the street, Lucy & Pebs by Baxter :)

Bailey & Michelle

Terrible mistake on my part this AM, folks.  I FORGOT little Bailey and his mom, Michelle.  Baxter actually did these pictures before mine or Susan's or Catherine's......these are just awesome!!  In Michelle's words -- YOU ROCK, BAXTER !!

Dipstick by Emma Nina on Facebook

This is my cat, Dipstick, otherwise known now as The Cat in the Hat -- by Emma Nina.  I love this photo!!!

Baxter on Facebook

This little dog just blows me away, what he can do with pictures!!  This picture is of my friend, Catherine's Levi, who got his wings in April.  I hope she and/or Baxter don't mind that I am sharing it -- it's too beautiful not to share!

Tuesday

Well you would think since i have less transcription that i would have more time......i just don't know what happens to the days!!!  I have more balloon pics and more pet pics from weekend pet sitting...and they are all sitting right here on the laptop waiting to be selected.  So meanwhile....i'll share this picture with you.  My new friend on Facebook, Baxter, did this picture -- i took the original picture of my three dogs.....and Baxter made it into this beautiful picture......and the thing that struck me after i saw Baxter's picture.....was the space my dogs left for Bonnie Lass. She was there with us :)

Hot Air Balloons in Reno!!

The Balloon Races are back -- we have a good view of them from our driveway, but i was delivering dictation this morning with my trusty sidekick, Ozzy.....and we made a little detour to Rancho San Rafael for a closer look.  They are beautiful... and people even noticed Ozzy!!  Here's a few pictures -- the rest will be posted on my flickr account -- you can find the link in the side bar if you want to see more pictures.  Hopefully i will be able to get saturday and sunday to take a few more pictures!

Work in Progress

This is Waverly's arm -- the outer arm is the taro card for Strength....the inner arm is another taro card but won't be completed for a few weeks so maybe she will let me take pictures as it is being worked on :)

Happy Friday!!!

I'm so glad the weekend is here -- i have HIGH hopes of being able to have a little time off to do some outside stuff.  I have pet sitting and lots of transcription -- but there is always hope for time off from typing. Pet sitting is awesome this weekend. I'm covering my friend Tricia's business while she is out of town having a thing called a "vacation."   And i have Boscoe's family again -- i believe Boscoe got to go with his mom again but i have the cats, Chocolate and Olive, the parrot, Ty, and the tortoise, Clack.

This is Olive.  Chocolate was hiding from me today so i will have to catch her later this weekend as well as Ty.
This is Clack -- she actually had her head out this morning -- unfortunately the camera was upstairs but i had my iPhone in my pocket so caught a little bit of her before she retreated.

These are three of the kitties that are out at Tricia's.
They were all sort of giving me the evil eye -- lol. But don't let them fool you -- they actually were very happy to see me!!

thursday......

Today has been pretty low key......it looks like it wants to rain outside -- almost wish it would.  here's a couple of random pictures....just because :)
This is Rudy....He was my first collie rescue from Sacramento back in October, 2001. At the time i got him I think Rudy was probably close to ten years old.

This was always one of my favorite pictures, Rudy and Cheeto sharing the futon.  Rudy had just been shaved for summer -- shhhhhh -- don't tell anyone -- that was back  before i knew it wasn't "proper" to shave a collie.

uninspired :(

I have been uninspired the past few days.  I had to do a lot of transcription over the three day holiday weekend....didn't allow me to do anything around my house.  And i lost one of my accounts which means about a 20-25% cut in my income.....but that just leaves more time for my animals and pet sitting so that may not be such a bad thing!!! so i'll get back in the swing of things here and get more pictures posted tomorrow!

Sunday Pet Sitting

This has been a busy pet sitting weekend :) Simon came to stay last night because his people had arranged for a place for him to stay when they got to Reno, but that person flaked on them.  He has sort of attached himself to Ozzy.  The other pictures are random shots of the client pets and the dogs in the yard this AM -- their play time lasted just about 30 seconds when the dog in the yard next door started hitting the fence.  Its probably going to come down with all the dogs hitting it so hard so i had to get the collies back out of the yard and playtime was over. Unfortunately the sun made the shots sort of not too good.
